About us

Huntingdale Teeball club (HTBC) was established in the summer of 1982. Our 2024/25 season will be our 42nd year operating in the local community enabling children from Pre- Primary to Year 7 to participate in the game of Teeball. One of 6 clubs within the greater Thornlie and Districts Association our club promotes keeping children active and healthy while following the four “F’s” - Fun, FairPlay, Fundamental skills and Family involvement.

We are 100% volunteer run which means any funds go back into creating a safe and positive environment for our players. Our coaches are all accredited and we have a supportive parent base without which our club could not run.

In 2022/23 we had 127 players registered in our club, 24 of which represented Huntingdale Tee-Ball Club in Thornlie & Districts States teams. These teams played in various carnivals throughout the season and in the States Carnival over the long weekend in March which is run by Tee-Ball Association of Western Australia (TBAWA).

Why we believe sport is important.

Huntingdale Tee-Ball Club feels that sport is an especially important part of a child’s life. By giving children opportunities to take part in sport, we help them develop new skills and to grow into well- adjusted young people. (Insert pic)

Some of the benefits of being involved in community sport are:
• Improved physical fitness
• Building of friendships
• Learning teamwork and playing within rules
• Improved social skills
• Improved concentration
• Learning about winning and losing
• Happier and healthier kids and families

By making sport fun and involving family, we can help the community as a whole gain an understanding into fitness and return to the basic ideals of family and co-operation.
As a club, we aim to engage our players to ensure time spent with their team and coaching staff is an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

What is Tee-ball?

The origins of Tee-ball date back to the 1950s and it’s a team sport based on a simplified version of baseball and softball. It is intended as an introduction into both baseball and softball where children can learn and develop ball game skills and have fun!
All children of the team are rotated through different fielding positions and each take a turn to hit the ball off a tee which is stationary. The game encourages team work, supporting each other and learning new skills – particularly the development of hand/eye coordination.
